Frequencies and Symbols

It is a traditional Raga of Kanhada Ang. It is arrived at through blending of Bageshri and Darbari Kanhada. Thus it is Raga of late evening. Generally it ascends with the Bageshri ang while in descent it follows Kanhada ang. The distinctive notes of this Raga not used in any of the parent Raga-s are: P D M P, D, M P D Gb, M R, S R P. Gb M D notes echo a glimpse of Shahana. Another Raga co-familiar to this is Kaushi Kanhada of Bageshri ang. Pt. Vinayak Rao Patwardhan in his Raga Vigyan (1929) considers both to be one and same. The note pancham is meeting point of Bageshri and Kanhada.
